Project

Durance Valley, France

The client selected three teams to do a parallel project for the Durance river valley in France. This study advocated a set of successive, pragmatic interventions fitting within a landscape structure framework for the lower and middle sector of the valley. The proposal is not imposing an overall blueprint, but rather a series of smaller interventions sponsored by local stakeholders, that eventually lead to the restoration of an attractive and durable landscape structure at the larger scale of the Valley. The study inspired the Regional Board of Tourism to invest in a proposed scheme of canal-based bike lanes closely aligned with the proposal.
