Project

Intermodal Hub, Leuven

This is one of the first Transit Oriented Developments (TOD's) in the Low Countries, on a former brownfield site near the train station of Leuven. The project committed different public stakeholders and financiers into a binding agreement to realize a masterplan. Several competitions then committed designers like Michel Desvignes, Gonzalo Bryne, and Manuel de Sola-Morales to design and detail specific fragments. The project has realized important continuities of public space, nature, and urban fabric. A complex web of traffic movements of different modes connect and interchange here. The project has won several awards.
