Debating the urban Bezalel academy Jerusalem – lecture and debates

At the occasion of the Opening of The URBURB – Patterns of Contemporary Living at ARTPORT Tel Aviv, the Graduate Program in Urban Design at Bezalel Academy of Arts and Design Jerusalem organized two debates on Challenging Public Space in the Contemporary Israeli City. Alexander D’Hooghe gave a guest lecture and took part in the debates “On Liberalism, Monumentality and Public Space in the Contemporary City” and “Street Cred in the Israeli URBURB?” Other participants were Keren Yeala-Golan – Artist and Curator of URBURB, the Israeli Submission to the 2014 Venice Biennale, and Dr. Roy Brand, Els Verbakel (Head of the Graduate Program in Urban Design), Mr. Ran Chaklai (Urban Economist and Geographer) and Dr. Noah Rubin (Geographer) all from Bezalel Academy of Arts and Design Jerusalem.
